About 15 months ago I sustained a painful Teres Major injury and Rotator Cuff Tendinitis and had to undergo lengthy treatments to address the issues. It’s been a frustrating period not being able to train at the level I’m use to. It’s certainly been a long road towards recovery, and although I’m not completely healed, I’m at least able to resume competitive training; with some restrictions to certain exercises involving the shoulder and chest regions. Adversity affects us all at certain periods in our life, however, it’s having a positive ‘Never Surrender’ attitude that helps us to get back up when we get knocked down.
My Goals for 2016 are to take my health to another level and to resume competition in the Grand Masters (over 50 ) division. My sights are set on the ANB Asia Pacific International Physique Championships in June, The Qld and Australian natural bodybuilding titles and the Natural Universe qualifier later in the year. At nearly 60 years of age I still believe that my best years await me, that’s the positive nature of my mindset, which has been developed over the past 40 years through natural bodybuilding and healthy eating. Having the generous support of Protein Supplies Australia behind me, greatly helps in my quest to ensure that I’m getting high quality supplements into my body in order to help fuel my intense workouts and recovery.
Being a Personal Trainer, it gives me great satisfaction in being able to help others achieve their goals, especially the elderly. I’m very ‘Old School’ in my approach, having learnt much of what I know from the Golden Era of bodybuilding.

At the end of the day my message to others is ‘Your never too old to achieve optimum health’. Quality nutrition is paramount towards achieving optimum health, yet in these times we have an epidemic of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc… particularly throughout the western world. These health problems are generally a direct result of poor food choices that people are making. When your nutritional intake is high in calories, yet deficient in nutrients, then you are going to create an array of health problems; and hence, we need to reverse that trend. Two hard hitting documentaries that I feel every person should see is ‘Food Matters‘ and ‘Hungry for Change‘. Believe me, these two films will greatly empower you in helping you to make better nutritional choices, so that you can acquire a healthy functioning mind and body every day of your life. Exercise does not make you healthy at the cellular level, quality nutrition does, and when we incorporate regular exercise we begin living the dream of optimum health and fitness.
